Il Dr. Marco Anselmino si laurea in Medicina e Chirurgia nel 1985 presso l’Università degli Studi di Padova, dove nel 1991 consegue la specializzazione in Chirurgia Generale. La sua formazione comprende anche la partecipazione a una Fellowship in Chirurgia Esofagea presso la Creighton University di Omaha (Stati Uniti).
Ha affinato le sue competenze in ambito chirurgico negli anni, svolgendo numerose procedure, inizialmente del tratto gastrointestinale superiore e inferiore ed epatobiliare. In seguito, ha perfezionato la sua esperienza relativa alla chirurgia mini-invasiva laparoscopica, eseguendo svariati interventi, in particolare del tratto esofageo e gastrico. Dal 1998 poi ha focalizzato il suo interesse sulla chirurgia bariatrica, ambito nel quale vanta una particolare expertise, data dall’esecuzione di numerose procedure tra cui by-pass gastrico, sia su ansa alla Roux sia ad anastomosi singola, sleeve-gastrectomy, oltre a procedure laparoscopiche malassorbitive, come il duodenal switch e la SADI (Single Anastomosis Duodeno-Ileal bypass).
Proprio nel campo della chirurgia bariatrica, nel corso della sua carriera, ha sviluppato un forte interesse e accresciuto il suo know how verso le nuove e più avanzate tecnologie di chirurgia mini-invasiva: laparoscopica, toracoscopica e robotica.

Highline e pubblicazioni scientifiche
Il Dottor Marco Anselmino intraprende, all’inizio degli anni 2000, la sua attività nell’ambito della Chirurgia dell’Obesità collezionando, sino ad oggi, oltre 250 partecipazioni a Congressi Nazionali ed Internazionali. Tra questi, anche gli annuali appuntamenti della Società Italiana di Chirurgia Bariatrica e Metabolica (SICOb) e dell’International Federation for Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery (IFSO) e numerosi approfondimenti che hanno generato importanti pubblicazioni su numerose riviste ad elevato impatto scientifico come Obesity Surgery, Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases (SOARD), Diabetes, Diabetologia, Obesity, International Journal of Obesity, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, Surgical Endoscopy ed Annals of Surgery.
Nel 2010, organizza e presiede, a Tirrenia (Pisa), il XVIII Congresso Nazionale SICOB. Dal 2014, anno della sua istituzione, fa parte della Scuola ACOI-SICOB di Chirurgia Bariatrica e Metabolica, fornendo lezioni frontali e con tutoring diretto a giovani chirurghi generali.
Nel 2016 ha organizzato e co-presieduto insieme il Bariatric Endoscopic Surgery Trends (B.E.S.T.) di Napoli, evento internazionale che riunisce i principali chirurghi bariatrici del mondo.
Dal 2004, svolge corsi sia base che avanzati trimestrali in Chirurgia Bariatrica Laparoscopica per giovani chirurghi, oltre ad essere docente dell’European School for Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery di Amburgo.
Nel 2021, organizza e presiede a Milano il Congresso su “Ernie Ventrali nel paziente Obeso” che ha riunito i principali chirurghi italiani dell’obesità insieme a chirurghi generali esperti nel trattamento chirurgico della parete addominale.
