Marco Anselmino

Dr. Marco Anselmino graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Padua in 1985, where he also completed his specialization in General Surgery in 1991. His advanced training includes a Fellowship in Esophageal Surgery at Creighton University in Omaha, USA.

Throughout his career, Dr. Anselmino has honed his surgical expertise through numerous procedures, initially focusing on the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract and hepatobiliary system. He later specialized in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, particularly for esophageal and gastric operations. Since 1998, he has concentrated on bariatric surgery, becoming a leading expert in this field. Dr. Anselmino has performed many laparoscopic procedures, including:

  • Gastric bypass (Roux-en-Y and single anastomosis, also known as OAGB or mini-bypass) 
  • Sleeve gastrectomy 
  • Malabsorptive procedures like the duodenal switch and SADI (Single Anastomosis Duodeno-Ileal bypass)

 

In his work, he has developed a deep interest in advanced minimally invasive techniques, mastering both laparoscopic and robotic technologies for bariatric surgery.
